Sheffield United review of Cusack death finds no wrongdoing but ‘processes’ to be reviewed
December 19 – An external investigation into the events leading up to the death of Sheffield United midfielder Maddy Cusack found “no evidence of wrongdoing”.
Just before her death, Cusack had started her sixth season with the club in England’s Women’s Championship and was the longest-serving player in their squad, with more than 100 appearances.
The 27-year-old died at her home on September 20 and two months later police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
