2024 Rose Parade: Meet Olivia Bohanec, Rose Court princess
When Olivia Bohanec heard her number called and found out she made it onto the coveted Rose Parade Royal Court, she was struck with disbelief.
“My mind just went completely blank thinking they must have read the wrong number, they must have read the wrong thing because this cannot be real,” she said in October, following the announcement at the Tournament House.
Bohanec, a La Salle College Preparatory High School senior, said her mother Angela, as well as her sisters Anikka and Katrina tried out to be Rose Queen in previous years, but she’s the first to be crowned a Rose Princess.

“I’m just so excited to be alongside such amazing young women,” she said of the process. “It’s such an amazing community that I get to be a part of and to say that I’m a part of this unique experience.”
At La Salle, the Altadena teen is one of five captains of the La Salle cross country team, a runner for the La Salle track and field team, president and founder of Trader Joe’s Club, a member and tutor for National Honor Society, a member of the Disability Awareness and Inclusion Club, the Gender and Sexuality Alliance Club, and a La Salle Student Ambassador.
Outside of school and her Royal Court duties, Bohanec enjoys running, baking, gardening, playing drums and piano, and plans to study psychology, business or communications.
Now, as a Rose princess, she’s an ambassador for the parade and for the region. She’ll be joining six other teens in the Royal Court: Trinity Dela Cruz from Marshall Fundamental School, Emmerson Tucker from Blair High School, Jessica Powell from Flintridge Preparatory, Mia Moore-Walker from Flintridge Preparatory, and Phoebe Ho from South Pasadena High School. Naomi Stillitano is Rose queen.
