Gurgaon experienced the coldest night of the season with a minimum temperature of 6.4 degrees Celsius. Hisar and Ambala recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 5.2 degrees Celsius. A fresh feeble western disturbance is expected to bring in cold air and light rain from the mountains. The IMD has issued a 'red alert' for fog on December 27 and 28 in the city, and a 'yellow alert' thereafter till December 31. The air quality index remained in the 'very poor' category at 313. Experts predict a further deterioration in air quality due to the dip in temperature and lower wind speed.
