Newcastle United And Liverpool Would Have To Dig Deep For Kalvin Phillips

Newcastle United and Liverpool would face having to fork out as much as £7.5m to have Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City until the summer, according to the Chronicle.

 

Phillips is prepared to move on from Manchester City in the winter window after being a bit part player again in the first half of the season at the Etihad.

 

Manchester City are open to loaning him out, but it has been suggested they would want a mandatory purchase clause including in any agreement, which means his exit would be effectively permanent.

 

 

 

Newcastle are in talks with Manchester City to secure a deal to sign the England midfielder on loan, while Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have also been linked with wanting him.

 

But even a simple loan deal with no mandatory clause is set to come at a premium due to Manchester City’s financial demands.

 

 

It has been claimed that loaning Phillips from Manchester City until the summer would cost an eye-watering £7.5m

 

Italian giants Juventus are also in the hunt for Phillips.

 

 

Whether the Bianconeri would be able to shoulder such costs is unclear, but any club that want to sign Phillips on loan next month face having to dig deep.
