Strictly fans convinced they’ve spotted ‘clue’ that EastEnders star has signed up for 2024 show
STRICTLY Come Dancing fans are convinced that Jamie Borthwick will be on the bill for next year’s show.
The EastEnders legend blew viewers away after strutting his stuff on the dance floor for the show’s Christmas special.
The Jay Brown actor in the soap was partnered up with professional dancer Nancy Xu.
The judges were so impressed by their Quickstep that insiders have said Jamie is now tipped to take part in the next series.
Fans are also convinced that he will be taking part, with many saying that they will sign a petition to get him on.
“Can the #Strictly Xmas contestants compete in the real competition once they’ve been on? ‘Cause I’d love to see Jamie actually involved in next years cast #JamieBorthwick,” one wrote.
“jamie borthwick for strictly 2024,” agreed a second.
“Wow! I think we know which @bbceastenders cast member will be on the next series of @bbcstrictly! Congratulations,” said a third.
“The winner of #ChristmasStrictlySpecial should get an automatic bye to the series next year #JamieBorthwick,” chimed another.
“Superb from Jamie Borthwick. Absolutely no surprise as he’s a Sylvia Young Theatre School alumnus – I thought he’d be good!” wrote a fourth.
“Right, we really need a full Strictly series with Jamie Borthwick!” another said.
EastEnders‘ Jamie, 29, said he was overcome to have won the Glitterball trophy, beating Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan, rugby player Danny Cipriani, historian Dan Snow, newsreader Sally Nugent and actress Tilly Amartey.
Head judge Shirley Ballas told Jamie: “If I could jump over this bar and quickstep around the room I would do it with you! I don’t have a paddle high enough for you.”
Craig Revel Horwood added: “Jamie you slayed me darling, you were Fab-U-Lous.”
Speaking after his win, Jamie said: “This is great, it’s been a wonderful experience, but we’re all winners here. This show is magic.”
Sources have said that he would do very well on the show next year.
A source said: “Jamie is a big name and Strictly would love to get on board for a main series in the future.
“He is a huge star on EastEnders and has more than proved himself on the dancefloor.
“Jamie really got into the spirit of Strictly and producers would love to have him back if they could work it around his schedule.”
