Data Plus and Edenred Pay Partner on Embedded Payments Solution

Data Plus and Edenred Pay have expanded their partnership to create a new embedded payments solution for hotels and hospitality businesses.

The new DPPay is designed to improve the complete accounts payable (AP) process by increasing efficiency, closing communication gaps in data and automating reconciliation processes, the companies said in a Dec. 21 press release. It will be available by the end of the first quarter of 2024.

“Our customers will no longer need to log on to multiple platforms to have full payment functionality or receive all the necessary payment information,” Data Plus CEO Bruce Bensetler said in the release.

Data Plus supplies an accounting platform that provides end-to-end payment automation for multi-property management, according to the release.

Its partner on the DPPay solution, Edenred Pay, offers an integrated platform for invoice processing and supplier payments, providing invoice-to-pay automation and hospitality industry expertise, the release said.

With Edenred Pay’s technology embedded in the Data Plus platform, the entire payment experience will be provided within the Data Plus platform, and real-time information will be synced automatically with hospitality customers’ Data Plus enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, per the release.

“We’re excited to expand our partnership with Data Plus to lead the hospitality market in an embedded solution that provides a state-of-the-art user experience including all of the compliance, security and functionality in payment processing brought by Edenred Pay on the Data Plus platform,” Jay Plueger, executive vice president of indirect and partner channels at Edenred Pay, said in the release.

PYMNTS Intelligence has found that businesses in the hospitality industry are exploring new technologies and using automated services to either augment or replace human employees during a time of labor shortages.

For hotels, back-end functionalities that lend themselves to automation include document scanning, faxing and financial reporting, according to the PYMNTS and LS Retail collaboration, “Can Automation Solve Labor Shortages in the Hospitality Sector?”

The report also found that customers are hungry for digital experiences when they travel, with about three-quarters saying they want to use their mobile phones for functionalities such as checking in to hotels, paying and ordering food.
