Medicare will not cover new weight loss drugs for many older Americans
WASHINGTON D.C.: Despite showing promising results in helping some people lose weight, Medicare will not cover new weight loss drugs, placing them out of reach for millions of older Americans.
However, as obesity rates rise among older American adults, drugmakers and a growing bipartisan coalition of lawmakers and public groups are pushing for this policy to change in 2024.
Some lawmakers said the U.S. c
