This Morning star reveals he turned down Celebrity Big Brother amid rumours Louis Walsh is set to sign up
A THIS Morning legend has revealed he turned down Celebrity Big Brother as rumours of the new line-up circulate.
The former politician and now broadcaster said being confined to the famous house for weeks has never appealed to him.
This Morning star Gyles Brandreth said during a recent appearance on the ITV lunchtime show: “Well, I have been asked, yes, I have been asked but I say no to these things!”
During the programme former CBB host Rylan Clark, who has been fronting This Morning with Josie Gibson, also discussed the rumoured line-up after The Sun revealed it includes the likes of former X Factor judge Louis Walsh.
Rylan said: “As a friend of Louis Walsh, I’d be like: ‘Don’t do it!’ but as a viewer I think: ‘You’d be great in there!’
“It’s like that split decision of what can I say to him? But I think he would be a great housemate!”
The Sun revealed bosses hope X Factor legend Louis could make revelations about his days on the smash-hit talent show.
A TV insider said: “The team behind the programme are being clever about the kind of celebs they’re considering.
The show — previously on Channel 4 and Channel 5 — will now air in a prime-time spot on ITV1 in March.
And bosses want high-profile names for its star-studded celebrity comeback.
Other names being touted for Celebrity Big Brother are controversial Wag Rebekah Vardy and Prince Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.
Katie Price is also no stranger to the show, having won it back in 2015 after beating Katie Hopkins.
Despite being in agony throughout the show after her latest boob op went wrong, the TV star has previously said she would go back into the house.
The mum of five has once again hinted at her return to the iconic show.
Taking to Instagram before Christmas, the star uploaded the Celebrity Big Brother return announcement video to her Story.
Alongside the clip, she added three wide eye emojis, fueling the rumours that she could be part of the new line-up.
