Valerie Bertinelli Gets Real With Her Fans About Her Gray Hair & Makeup-Free Face
Hollywood celebrities are ready for the new year, and they are pulling down their armor and getting real with their fans. Valerie Bertinelli explained why she’s sharing her makeup-free face and gray roots on social media — and it’s all about shutting down her critics once and for all in 2024.
“I’m filming with no filter today because some of y’all get really bent out of shape when I choose to use a filter, which I’ve told you about,” Bertinelli told her followers on Instagram. “Sometimes I use filter, and sometimes I don’t. Most of the time, I do use filter because this is me with no makeup, and this is no filter.” The 63-year-old actress looked fresh-faced and stunning without a stitch of makeup, so any criticism aimed at her (filter or no filter) is absurd.
She then revealed that one of her so-called fans claimed she was wearing a wig, even though Bertinelli has always been known for her luscious brunette locks. “Can you get me a wig without flipping gray roots then, please, because I’m tired of getting my roots done every two weeks,” she said gracefully. “Thank goodness 99.9 percent of you are really kind, sweet people and don’t give a flying flip whether I have roots or I put a filter on. But some of y’all need to chill out, ok? I mean seriously.” Bertinelli laughed at the end of her clip, but she shouldn’t have had to make that video in the first place.
Bertinelli has always let her authenticity shine through in her successful TV career, and it’s what has made her so beloved for decades. Tiffany Thiessen made sure her friend felt supported and offered this wise advice in the comments, “don’t give that any energy friend. It ain’t worth it. I literally erase and ignore that noise. Did that for my sanity a long time ago. lol! Happy New Year gorgeous.”
The Hot in Cleveland star has been open about her journey with aging and anyone who follows her TikTok account knows that she puts it all out there. “I’ve seen parts of my body that are sagging that didn’t use to sag. Like, what the hell is that?!” Bertinelli said while pointing to her arms and neck. “I’m just having trouble wrapping my head around this aging stuff because in my brain, I am still this young, goofy, let’s have fun girl.”
