One Tottenham star makes WhoScored Team of the Month for December
Son Heung-min is the only Tottenham star to make Whoscored’s Team of the Week on the back of the Lilywhites’ 3-1 win over Bournemouth.
Ange Postecoglou would have called on his side to deliver one big final effort in what was the final fixture of a busy festive period for his side and he would have wanted his captain to step up in his final game before heading off to the Asian Cup.
However, it looked like it could prove to be a frustrating outing for Son, who was uncharacteristically indecisive and sloppy in the final third during the first half.
The South Korean’s quality then showed through as he scored the home side’s decisive second goal in the 71st minute, with his fearsome shot from a tight angle cannoning off the woodwork into the back of the net after Giovani Lo Celso picked out his run with a lovely through ball.

That was the 31-year-old’s 12th goal of the season and his final game of 2023, which was rewarded with a place in WhoScored’s Team of the Month for December. The South Korean had four goals and four assists across the festive month, earning a score of 7.63 out of 10.
