ITV viewers demands broadcaster revives controversial show after 15 years off air
ITV VIEWERS have demanded that bosses bring back a controversial show after 15 years off air.
The broadcaster has been inundated from fans of Golden Balls asking them to revive the game show.
It aired on ITV between 2007 and 2009 and was presented by Jasper Carrott.
Golden Balls saw contestants collect cash and bluff their way to the last round – the two contestants then choose to share or steal the money in the final round.
If both share, the money is split, but if one steals while the other shares they keep all the money for themselves. If both players chose to steal, they left empty-handed.
Throughout its two years the show produced epic game-playing moments including one of game show’s most controversial episodes.
Sarah ‘stole’ over £100k from her rival Stephen Bushnall in 2008.
Stephen previously revealed how the final left him in floods of tears as he realised he was going home empty handed thanks to Sarah.
And after a string of TV revivals last year including Deal or No Deal‘s epic return, fans now want Golden Balls back in the ITV schedule.
Taking to social media, one fan said: “@ITV We have waited enough, bring Goldenballs back.”
A second wrote: “Bring back golden balls and get Alan Carr to do full series of strike it lucky and name that tune .. perfect add to gameeshow list.”
“I hope Golden Balls gets a revival,” said a third.
While a fourth posted: “ITV need to listen to fans and get Golden Balls back.”
