Olympia Convinced Her Mom Serena Williams to Try Something New & The Video Is Full of Joy
Even world-renowned athletes sometimes need a little push from their kids. Serena Williams, decorated tennis star and gold medalist, just shared a new video of something that her 6-year-old daughter Olympia made her do while on vacation — and it’s pure happiness.
“So Olympia’s talked me into doing this waterslide — which I’ve already done twice,” Williams says in the TikTok, as she walks back in line, wearing a pink-and-black swimsuit. She then gets on the slide, holding her camera out in selfie mode to capture the whole experience. She shrieks and laughs the whole time she slides down, at one point fumbling the camera and saying, “Oh shoot!” before plunging into the water at the end.
Williams comes out of the pool laughing uncontrollably, and we can’t help but smile with her. It looks like she’s having a blast!
“Give ya girl a wateralide [sic] and a camera- and this is what you will get!” Williams captioned the cute video. Hey, there’s nothing like having kids to keep you young.
“I love that you are just enjoying yourself and forgetting about tennis and the stress of competition. enjoy mama,” one person commented.
“Girl your having more fun than she is ????????????,” another joked. And there’s nothing wrong with that!
Williams, who shares Olympia and daughter Adira, 4 months, with husband Alexis Ohanian, is currently in the Caribbean with her family. At one point, they went on a boat ride and traveled to a sandy island, where they dressed up like pirates and had a treasure hunt with Olympia.
“A naughty pirate stole a bunch of gifts for Jr and she had to piece together a map, find the buried treasure on a deserted island in the Caribbean, and dig it up,” Ohanian wrote on Instagram. “I think we all know who did most of the digging, though,” he added, referencing the fact that he is the one digging with the kid stroller in the photo.
This is one family that knows how to have fun!
