President Joe Biden has re-nominated Indian-American Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy to represent the United States on the executive board of the World Health Organization (WHO). Dr. Murthy, who was confirmed as the 21st Surgeon General in March 2021, has seen his confirmation to the WHO position delayed since October 2022.
