A BEAUTY expert has revealed how she achieves a youthful glow using budget-friendly products.
As a magazine editor, she’s spent over 15 years trying makeup of all price ranges.
Alessandra Steinherr (@alexsteinherr) boasts over 187,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares beauty tips from her career at Glamour and Cosmo.
She took to the social media platform to reveal drugstore products she consistently repurchases.
“The Air Volume mascara by L’Oreal,” she said. “I know everyone is talking about the Telescopic one but I don’t know why this is so slept on.
“Obviously mascara tastes are so individual because it all depends on what type of lashes you have.
“Do you have short lashes, long lashes, straight lashes, do you have curled lashes?”
Alessandra revealed she likes to give her eyelashes “natural volume” without wearing false lashes.
She explained Air Volume mascara by L’Oreal, which costs $14.39 from Feel Unique gives her a voluminous and lifted look without clumping.
She also raved about e.l.f’s Power Grip Primer available from Amazon for $10.
“I thought I was gonna have it, but I absolutely love it,” she said.
“Most primers are a problem for me because I have skin that’s more on the dry side. Most primers are done for big pores or skin that’s oily.
“This is so amazing, it’s light-weight, full of hyaluronic acid. It really hydrates the skin and the makeup stays put.
“I have a real issue with keeping makeup on my skin.
“I don’t use a lot of powder because I’m dry and I think it makes me look so much older to use powder.
“I think as soon as you’re hitting 30 powder can turn from your best friend to your enemy.”
Alessandra admitted she’s “obsessed” with the affordable primer despite her role as a beauty editor giving her access to even the most expensive alternatives.
She recommended pairing it with a Dewy Finish setting spray by NYX which costs $10 from the brand’s website.
“When I wear this primer with this setting spray by NYX,” she said.
“I’ll wear the primer, put my foundation on, set my makeup with this dewy finish it’s like I’m glowing all day. It’s amazing, I love it.
“A lot of setting sprays after a while I feel like my skin’s tight and cracking and it’s too dry like flakiness.
“This is just you look glowy all day long and the makeup doesn’t move.”
The makeup expert revealed she also uses Maybelline Eraser multi-use concealer which costs $9 from Walmart.
She said it comes in a “vast shade selection” and has a lot of good ingredients for keeping skin hydrated.
“I want my concealer to conceal but also hydrate my eye area,” she explained.
“I mean I’m wearing all the makeup I’m talking about today so I’m wearing the mascara, primer, dewy spray, concealer.
“I have dark under-eye circles and I think this is so good.”
Alessandra claimed she’s been using L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow foundation for years, it costs $13 from Walmart.
She said it gives her skin a lasting glow without getting too shiny throughout the day.
“It’s hydrating, it stays put. I buy this wherever I can find it,” she said.
The video went viral with over 1.5 million views and racked up 87,000 likes from people who were grateful for the recommendations.
Hundreds of viewers took to the comment section complimenting Alessandra on her appearance and were eager to try the products for themselves.
