Wall Street was quiet early following a lackluster session a day earlier as markets await U.S. inflation data and high-profile corporate earnings reports later in the week. Futures for the S&P 500 were up less than 0.1% before the bell Wednesday, while futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average were essentially unchanged. Oil prices rose and Tokyo's benchmark hit its highest level since 1990. Other global markets were mixed. On Tuesday, the S&P 500 slipped 0.1% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.4%. The Nasdaq composite edged up 0.1%.
