Sheriff’s deputies in Southern California have shot and killed an armored man who opened fire on them with an assault rifle when they answered a report of a fight at a home. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department says a report of a fight between family members sent deputies to a home in Hemet late Tuesday night. The Sheriff's Department says the deputies contacted a suspect at the front door but he shut it and opened fire from within the home. He was shot and pronounced dead at a hospital. Authorities say a family member was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries. No deputies were hurt.
