Dravid is happy with the left-handed batters in India

Rahul Dravid is not an exception to Rinku Singh’s impressive exploits during his brief time on the international scene. Rinku’s coach in India wants him to hone his finishing techniques during the three-match Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan.

“As a finisher, he has been doing a good job. On the eve of the opening Twenty20 International in Mohali, Dravid stated, “This series (against Afghanistan) is another opportunity for him to develop himself as a cricketer further.”

“Any opportunity he receives, whether it is here or in the IPL, will be beneficial to his growth. The selector never stops thinking about a player who performs well,” he continued.

Dravid considered Rinku’s left-handedness to be a “nice string to the bow” in addition to his calm demeanour and broad range of shots. In addition to Tilak Varma and Ishan Kisgan, who declined to participate in this series, there is also Alsi Yashasvi Jaiswal.

“Players like Tilak, Jaiswal, and Rinku have also joined, adding a lovely string to the bow. However, we ultimately choose players based on their performance, not merely on who bats left or right,” Dravid stated.

Left-handers are still part of our lineup. However, it is not just about left-handers; it’s also about their endurance and ability to deal with various spin types.”

Dravid also stated that Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal would be paired together at the order in remarks made prior to the T20I series.

“Rohit and Jaiswal will open for us as of right now. We can accept a call that is beneficial for the team when you have a squad that is flexible.

“We are very pleased with Jaiswal’s performance as our opener. Additionally, it provides us with the top left-right combination,” Dravid continued.

Virat Kohli will be available for the final two games of the series even though he is not available for the Mohali T20I. This, upon selection, would once more open Pandora’s box. Does Shubman Gill, a hitter who hits similarly, open or replace Kohli at No. 3?

Dravid stated, “Nothing is closed,” on the possibility of Kohli and Rohit opening together. “We have no doubt that the kind of ability and skill sets players like Rohit and Kohli possess, they will be able to find answers against different kinds of bowling.”
