Police investigating death of 1-month-old in Windsor
Police in Windsor are investigating the tragic death of a 1-month-old infant on Wednesday.
The Windsor Police Department and emergency responders from Windsor Volunteer Ambulance service were dispatched to a home on Tobey Avenue around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday on a report of an unresponsive 1-month-old infant, according to Windsor police.
Once at the scene, first responders immediately began performing life-saving measures, including CPR, on the infant, police said. The infant was transported to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead, according to police.
At this time, police said the death did not appear suspicious.
“The Windsor community is grieving for the family,” Windsor police Capt. Andrew Power said in a statement on Wednesday. “At this time, please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
The incident remains under investigation, according to police.
