Lorraine Kelly forced to apologise and orders ITV bosses to ‘cut that out’ after on-air mistake
LORRAINE Kelly was forced to apologise to viewers after a show slip-up – promptly ordering ITV bosses to “cut that out.”
The Scottish broadcaster, 64, became tongue-tied as she previewed her show on Thursday.
It came after Good Morning Britain anchors Ben Shephard, 49, and Ranvir Singh, 46, had transferred over to Lorraine following a cheerleading segment.
The ITV anchor had welcomed viewers and started to talk about a health segment with Dr Hilary, 70, when she struggled to get her words out.
Taking a pause, Lorraine told the camera: “Sorry, we can do that again.
“Cut that out.”
She was clearly joking, as the Lorraine show is aired live every weekday from 9am to 10am so cannot be edited.
Lorraine’s apology came just a week after her ITV co-star Susanna Reid was forced to say sorry during a live GMB show.
Susanna halted her interview with telly presenter Ben Fogle, 50, after a dramatic bang could clearly be heard on-camera during last Thursday’s episode.
After the noise caused havoc in the broadcast Susanna said: “My goodness, sorry!
“Is everyone OK?”
Meanwhile, off screen, Lorraine recently spoke out shunning posh celebrity events – because she is “working class.”
The legendary TV presenter says that she still considers herself “working class,” despite being one of the biggest stars on telly.
Lorraine told Kaye Adams on her How to be 60 podcast that she is proud of her background but doubts herself at “posh events” sometimes, according to The Mirror.
She said: “I still have working class cringe, that voice if you get an invitation to say go and meet Prince William for some charity thing. You go, “Oh God, I can’t go.”
“It’s weird, I know it’s silly and I talk to myself about it and say don’t be daft, but I still have that kind of feeling… but yes, I do consider myself working class and I’m very proud of it.”
