Lidl backing two charity concerts to benefit cancer sufferers
As it continues its significant and long-standing support for the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, Lidl Cyprus is backing two major charity concerts aimed at financially aiding the Society, on Saturday, January 20, at Nicosia’s Strovolos Municipal Theatre, and on Sunday, January 21, at Limassol’s Rialto Theatre.
These special charity concerts will bring together the Cyprus Guitar Orchestra and Nikos Portokaloglou, in a musician spectacle described as a modern interpretive approach, with one of the most important songwriters and performers of his generation, under the artistic direction of Antonis Koizas. Conducting and orchestrations belong to Antonis Mytakidis, while concert soloists will be Giorgos and Stelios Golgaris, the Cyprus Guitar Trio and vocals by Marina Verzanli. Meanwhile, the participation of teachers and university students, conservatories and music schools will result in 200 guitars on stage.
For over a decade, Lidl Cyprus has stood firmly by the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, covering its Food Programme at the “Arodaphnousa” Palliative Care Centre, as well as supporting the Centre’s Room Adoption Programme, while also frequently backing charity actions and specific concerts to raise resources.
Lidl Cyprus, remaining true to its timeless corporate values, as well as its larger vision of a better tomorrow, undertakes important charity projects for the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society consistently, helping materialise the Society’s vision to maximise support for those battling cancer.
The concert will take place in accordance with the provisions of the Fundraising Law and the relevant Fundraising Licence No.73/2023, issued by the Ministry of Interior for the period 01/01-30/06/2024.
