2024 Critics Choice Awards predictions: ‘Succession’ will continue its winning streak
Viewers of the 29th Critics Choice Awards may experience déjà vu as the television winners will very closely resemble the victors at last Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards. Part of that feeling will come from the numerous wins for HBO’s “Succession,” which our official odds expect to take home four prizes — the most of the night — including Drama Series. Actors Kieran Culkin, Matthew Macfadyen and Sarah Snook will each give another acceptance speech, too, after prevailing at the Globes in their respective categories. “Beef” and “The Bear” will also continue their winning streaks with three trophies apiece. Just like at the recent Globes, both shows will take home the top program award plus two acting wins. Not all of the winners will be repeats, though. Separate supporting categories by genre mean that Globes also-rans James Marsden and Meryl Streep will win for their turns on “Jury Duty” and “Only Murders in the Building.” Other series or movies that will take home just a single trophy include “The Crown” for Globes winner Elizabeth Debicki, “Reality,” “Lessons in Chemistry” and “Fellow Travelers.”
