A TEACHER has stood up for her ability to dress attractively while remaining appropriate.
She criticized those who say that because she’s a young teacher, she should focus on dressing “professionally.”
She believes that she can dress in a style she likes while remaining appropriate for school.
Third-grade teacher Bri Jackson (@missjackson_in3rd) shares videos about her life and experiences as a teacher with her 82,000 followers.
In a recent clip, she explored the pressure put on educators to adhere to a certain style of dress.
Bri came close to the camera as overlaid text read: “You’re a young teacher…make sure you dress like a professional.”
She wagged her finger as she play-acted the expectations put on her to dress “professionally.”
In the next shot, Bri appeared full-length, showing off a stylish yet work-appropriate outfit.
She wore a long-sleeved white and grey striped shirtdress with a slight v-neck.
Her hair was loose and her work lanyard was around her neck.
“Me knowing how to dress cute while following dress code because I’m a normal human,” overlaid text read.
Viewers agreed with Bri’s sentiment.
“I have 2nd grade twins. I think they relate better to their teachers when they are real and not ‘professional,'” wrote one commenter.
