Report: Club are ‘waiting for a definitive opening’ to sign Tottenham player
The print editions of both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport reported on Thursday (as relayed by Sport Witness) that Tottenham have not communicated any willingness to allow Bryan Gil to leave on loan.
Both outlets back up what we heard over the last two days by stating that Fiorentina are plotting a temporary move for Gil after Spurs brought Timo Werner through the door.
Gazzetta claim that the Viola feel the 22-year-old would be the ‘right solution’ for their problems in attack but the club are ‘waiting for a definitive opening’ from Spurs to push ahead with a move for the winger.

A similar sentiment is also echoed by Corriere, who say that Vincenzo Italiano’s men are ‘still waiting to understand’ if Tottenham would be happy to allow the former Sevilla man to leave on loan this month.
The publication adds that as things stand, the Premier League club have not sent any signals ‘for this desire’ and suggests that the Lilywhites might prefer to sell Gil permanently.

While Gil is clearly talented, things just have not clicked for him at Spurs and I cannot see the youngster getting enough game time to turn his fortunes around. The time might have perhaps come for Tottenham to move the winger on permanently for the sake of his own career.
