Natalie Portman Is Reportedly Holding Off on Benjamin Millepied Divorce for One Parental Reason
It’s been nearly a year, and we’re still shocked to hear about Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied’s split after those cheating allegations came out. For a while, they were seen out and about with their kids, sparking both reconciliation rumors and rumors of them working to transition to a co-parenting bond. But insiders claim Portman is almost ready to file for divorce from him, but one aspect is holding her back.
Insiders recently told DailyMail that Portman tried to work through their marriage, but the cheating was too much of a deal breaker. However, the only reason there hasn’t been an official filing yet is because they’re thinking about how to have their children be okay with this divorce.
“Divorce is in the works, but nothing has been filed as of yet. They are split, however, and she is living in Paris while Benjamin continues to work in the US,” the insider said. “They are figuring out what is best for their children, as they both have so much love for them and are great parents.”
The insider added, “Natalie needed time to process and heal and those around her know how strong of a woman she is and how dedicated to her causes she is, including women’s empowerment. No woman should have to put up with a cheating spouse. She has been private about it because that is who she is.”
Back in June 2023, French magazine Voici alleged that Portman discovered the reported affair in March 2023. The outlet also posted photos of Millepied and Camille Étienne entering his Paris office separately and leaving the same office two hours later, only 10 minutes apart, raising further speculation.
For those that don’t know, Portman and Millepied started their romance in 2009 after meeting on the set of the film Black Swan. They married in 2012, and later welcomed two children together named Aleph and Amalia. In 2023, they seemed to have split up, and divorce proceedings may be on the horizon.
