Gladiators chaos as star rushed to medics after horror knee injury

A GLADIATORS contestant has been rushed to medics after suffering an horror knee injury as he’s left fighting back tears.

The classic show was back with a stellar line-up of athletes and sports stars and with Bradley Walsh and his son Barney as the new hosts.

Contestant Finley took on his next challenge called the Gauntlet.

It required the contenders to get to the end of the Gauntlet in just 30 seconds – while there were four zones each protected by a Gladiator.

There were two points available for every zone cleared, with a total of ten for going the distance.

Finley appeared confident as he took on Viper, Phantom, Steell and Apollo.

But things took a nasty turn when Finley injured his knee during the intense game.

Appearing in agony, Finley was seen limping and covering his face as the game was suddenly halted.

Finley said: “Twisted my knee down there so I don’t know, I felt something go, but this is not the end this won’t be the last time that you see me.

“I’m going to go in the back and recover and we’ll see what else I can give.

“This is not the last from me. Not a chance! Not a prayer!”

Finley was escorted backstage where he was seen by the medical team.

Phantom said: “We’re not here to make it easy but we hope he’s ok.”

Finley was cleared for the next challenge but failed to win any points in the hanging against Legend.

He said: “It’s just about put together, but no matter how many times I get knocked down I’ll always get back up.”

Finley managed to make a comeback and landed a spot in the next quater-finals after beating The Eliminator.

He added: “I’m glad I pushed through and put on a show for everyone here and everyone watching at home.”

A new generation of mighty Gladiators made their debut on tonight’s show – including the likes of Bionic, Fire and Apollo.

The show originally ran on ITV for eight seasons from 1992 until 2000.

The Gladiators OG cast included famous Gladiators like Jett, Wolf and Cobra.

Earlier this week, telly star Bradley revealed that he nearly turned down hosting the Gladiators reboot.

But it wasn’t the next generation of muscle-bound toughies who were scaring him, but working with his son Barney after five series of their travel show Breaking Dad.

He revealed: “I did have to talk dad into doing this, because of what we’d done on Breaking Dad.”

But Bradley shot back: “I was just sick to death of getting thrown off buildings and things like that.”
