I spent £15,000 to prove I love my girlfriend, but she’s still unfaithful 

DEAR DEIDRE: Determined to prove I loved my girlfriend, I spent £15,000 on weight loss surgery, but I think she’s still cheating on me.

I’m 34. She’s 33 and owns a barber shop. She gets a lot of attention from her customers.

One evening she seemed to be clutching her phone and messaging somebody.

I checked her profile on Facebook and there was a guy on there who looked about our age.

He had liked every photo and post she put up.

I asked her who he was and she admitted he was an ex. But when I expressed my concerns, she got angry with me, saying I was mental and I’d be more likely to cheat.

She then came back downstairs throwing her phone at me, saying she had nothing to hide, but she’d deleted her Snapchat account.

Weeks later, I knew she was chatting to another guy as she’d swipe her screen up when I came near.

The following weekend, she got drunk. I tried to be amorous with her but she pushed me away, saying I was fat and ugly, which was when I decided to have the surgery.

I was recovering at home when a mate phoned me and said he’d seen my girlfriend in a pub with another guy.

It turns out it was the ex again and it happened when I was under the knife.

In total, there have been 12 times when I’ve caught her lying.

DEIDRE SAYS: It doesn’t sound as if she’s taking your relationship seriously.

And by making out that you’re the one with issues, she is gaslighting you.

She’s deflecting the attention away from herself and making things up about you.

You may have to accept that you can’t trust her and this relationship has run its course.
