ALC Campus Ministries Hosts ‘Meet Me in CAC’ Amidst Local Church Closures
As icy conditions and single-digit temperatures caused local churches to cancel Sunday morning services, ALC Campus Ministries organized a special worship service on January 21st, inviting students, faculty and staff to join them for a morning of spiritual connection and fellowship. The event, aptly named “Meet Me in CAC,” took place in the Roop Auditorium of the Campbell Arts Center (CAC) and provided a unique opportunity for individuals to come together to worship.
Recognizing the need for a service on the first day of the week, Campus Ministries quickly mobilized to plan for morning worship. The worship service featured an uplifting message from Provost Charles Marshall that focused on the spiritual application of the snowfall.
“The decision to host ‘Meet Me in CAC’ was driven by a desire to provide a space where the campus community could come together when our local churches had to cancel services due to the weather. It gave us the opportunity to still worship God and spend time in fellowship,” explained Dr. Allison Southard, Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
As the worship service concluded, participants left CAC with a renewed sense of connection and community. The event serves as a testament to the importance of coming together, even when the weather tries to keep us apart.
