Christian McCaffrey first touchdown Super Bowl bets cashed on a trick play that nearly backfired
Christian McCaffrey was the favorite to both score a touchdown in Super Bowl 58 and score the first touchdown of the game, and both cashed on a long-developing trick play in the second quarter.
It took more than 25 minutes of game-time, but the first touchdown between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs finally occurred with 4:23 left in the first half. It took a play that went from doomed to wow.
Brock Purdy threw a backwards pass to wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who then threw it cross-field while getting hit to McCaffrey, who took it in for the 21-yard score.
