Super Bowl 58: What color was the Gatorade bath?
The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl 58 champions but anyone who correctly bet on the color of Gatorade being poured on head coach Andy Reid probably feels like a champion right now, too.
In all the chaos after Kansas City pulled off the game-winning touchdown in overtime, it seemed like the Chiefs’ sideline forgot to grab a tub of sports drink and dump it on Reid.
Or so we thought.
It wasn’t immediately shown on the CBS broadcast, but the Chiefs did manage to get Reid, and they went back to the same color that helped them win last year: Purple Gatorade.

Purple was the odds on favorite (+275) at kickoff after opening at +225. Orange was +325, Yellow/Green/Blue was +375, Red/Pink was +400, Clear/Water was +1100.
We were so close to, officially, cashing “No Gatorade Bath” at sportsbooks. The prop opened up at +4000 and moved to +2000 by Sunday, yet at BetMGM only six percent of all Gatorade bets were on “No Gatorade Bath”, which accounted for just five percent of all money wagered on the prop. That would’ve been a huge win for the sportsbook.
Instead, they’ll be paying out plenty of winners as Purple attracted seven percent of all bets and 17 percent of all the money.

While the majority of the bets were on Red/Pink (23 percent), 23 percent of all money wagered was on Orange.
Let this be a lesson if the Chiefs make it back to the Super Bowl next year. Don’t doubt Purple.
