Love Island legend sparks concern as she admits she’s in ‘such a bad place’ as she raises her daughter as a single mum
LOVE Island star Shaughna Phillips has sparked concern amongst her fans as she admitted she’s in a “bad place”.
The 29-year-old opened up about her mental health struggles in a very candid video for fans today, saying: “I’m just not happy.”
Shaughna, who is raising daughter Lucia alone while her former partner is in prison, revealed she had been struggling to film a “day in the life” for her social media because of her low mood.
She explained: “I feel like you can see it on my face, I am just not happy.
“And I feel like there are probably a plethora of reasons and I feel so guilty because I have such an angel a baby that should make me happy every day but at the minute I am just not.”
Shaughna tried to offer some words of encouragement to herself and her fans, adding: “You know what they say, tough times don’t last, tough people do, can’t enjoy the sun without a little bit of rain, god gives these toughest battles to the strongest soldiers.
“Do you know what? I am done being a strong soldier. I am ready to be a soft one.”
After watching the video her close pal Paige Turley told her: “You won’t realise how many people you’ll help by even just admitting this is how you’re feeling & not just painting the glossy version for insta. Day by day, Just keep swimming, love you lots.”
While a fan offered support, commenting: “I promise you it will get better. We’ve been there babe.”
And someone else wrote: “This made me quite emotional, take one day at a time and if you struggle to do that then one hour at a time!xxxxx.”
The mum-of-one rose to fame when she appeared in Love Island in 2020 – and was famously coupled up with Callum Jones before he dumped her for Molly Smith.
She was later left devastated when the father of her child Billy Webb, 29, was busted for drug offences after a dramatic police raid.

“Sorry this is going to be f**king depressing, if you are in a bad mood already I am not going to cheer you up.
“I have been filming this ‘day with me’ for f**king four days and I just never finish it because I have just been in such a bad place.
“God that feels so weird and awkward to say out loud.
“I feel like you can see it on my face, I am just not happy. And I feel like there are probably a plethora of reasons and I feel so guilty because I have such an angel baby that should make me happy every day but at the minute I am just not.
“I feel like the only times I look happy is when she is with me and I just love her so much and this is just a shout out to anyone who is going through it at the minute.
“I have no helping hand to get out of it, but just know you are not on your own and we are going to get through it together.

She was 30 weeks pregnant with their daughter Lucia at the time, and he was sentenced to nine years in prison.
The reality star said about her jail visits: “I don’t tend to say prison. I think that’s such a dirty word. It’s not the p word – I say, like, he’s away and I think people think he’s in the army.”
Despite not having her partner on the outside with her, Shaughna said she has a strong “support system” thanks to Billy’s family.
She previously explained: “His family are my family. It’s always going to be that way, but I am just lucky that we get along. His sister is one of my best friends, we spent Christmas with them, it’s all good.
“They’re a support system for me as well – Billy’s mum was at my birth, so it was my mum and his mum and I remember after that, people were saying to me, how on earth did you have your mother-in-law there?”
