Performing OK – Everton Star Remaining Upbeat Despite Struggles

Everton skipper James Tarkowski has revealed that though his side are going through a difficult run, they are performing okay and want to pick up wins soon.

 

The club’s last win in the Premier League was back in December last year when they beat Burnley 2-0 away from home.

 

That was a month after they had been handed a ten-point penalty for breaching sustainability rules.

 

 

 

Things have got complicated since then with four defeats being accompanied by another four draws.

 

That has pushed the Toffees down the table and they are currently battling against the drop.

 

The 31-year-old, while conceding the difficulties they have faced, insists that the desire is to pick up wins soon and performances have been OK.

 

 

“We’re in a bit of a difficult run now where we’ve not won for a while”, Tarkowski told his club’s official website.

 

“But we’ve been performing okay and picking up a few points but, obviously, we want to pick up wins soon.”

 

 

Pointing towards the tough matches they have played in between with teams such as Manchester City and Tottenham, the defender added: “We’ve had some tough games.

 

“We’ve played Man City twice and Spurs twice in the past month.

 

“In all of those games we’ve played really well and didn’t get as many points from those games as we would have hoped with the performances that we put in.

 

“We’ll focus on where we are for now, we look forward to the next game and hopefully that win is on the way.”

 

Everton currently lead Luton Town in terms of goal difference but have played a game more.

 

Luton will have a chance to leap above them if they at least draw with Liverpool on Wednesday.
