I’d Tell Rangers Players – Gers Legend Issues Thoughts On Celtic

Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has insisted that he is still wary of a Celtic comeback and would tell the Gers dressing room they must be focused.

 

Following the weekend’s action, Rangers have climbed to the top of the Scottish Premiership table and have a two-point lead over defending champions Celtic.

 

While the Celtic players and Brendan Rodgers continue to face the ire of the Bhoys fans, Rangers are bouncing at the moment and there is a real sense of hope amongst the Gers faithful.

 

 

 

However, Ferguson stressed that Celtic should not be counted out yet and he would communicate that message if he was in the Rangers dressing room.

 

He insisted that Celtic still have quality players who can bounce back and Rangers cannot afford to become complacent and need to keep their eyes on the ball in the coming months.

 

 

The Rangers legend said on the Go Radio Football Show: “I am not going to come on here and gloat because Celtic have dropped two points.

 

“It’s great for Rangers but I would always be wary.

 

 

“If I am in the Rangers dressing room, I’d be saying to my team-mates, ‘Listen, they have still got quality players across so that they can come back at any stage’.

 

“You know what football is like, anything can happen.

 

“Take your eye off the ball, it slaps you in the face.”

 

Rangers will have a good chance of putting more pressure on Celtic if they beat Hearts on Saturday ahead of their rivals’ trip to Motherwell a day later.
