Report: Spurs put on red alert after latest development in PL star’s contract talks
TEAMtalk claim that Lloyd Kelly has decided he will not be signing a new contract at Bournemouth unless it contains a release clause, with Tottenham thought to be one of the sides watching the situation closely.
The centre-back’s current deal runs out in June and in an effort to prevent the player from leaving on a free transfer, the Cherries have now allegedly offered him a new contract.
However, it is explained that Kelly wants to keep his options open and has thus made it clear that an extension has to include a release clause.

TEAMtalk say that the latest development has put Spurs, Newcastle and West Ham on red alert, with all three clubs eyeing a summer move for the 25-year-old.
The outlet explains that Kelly has been a long-term target for Ange Postecoglou’s men and that they could still push ahead with a move for the Englishman despite signing Radu Dragusin during the last transfer window.
The publication adds that while Bournemouth are not confident of tying the defender down to new terms, they have still not given up hope on the matter and working hard to do so.

Perhaps Postecoglou views Kelly as an upgrade on Ben Davies, with the Cherries star being able to cover for the centre-back and left-back roles.
However, I suspect the 25-year-old would not be too keen on the idea of joining Spurs as he would know that he is unlikely to be a regular starter at the North London side.
