Zero goals, assists & key passes — Sancho hits new low in latest Champions League display
Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho endured a disappointing evening in the Champions League on Tuesday as Borussia Dortmund played out a 1-1 draw with PSV in the first leg of their round-of-16 tie.
Edin Terzi? featured the 23-year-old on the left wing from the start but he failed to repay the faith of his manager.
The England international failed to produce a single goal or assist and was subbed off on 68 minutes.
Donyell Malen’s opening goal means the tie is finely poised ahead of the return leg in Germany but Terzi? must have been disappointed with Sancho’s display.
The London-born young forward had only 31 touches in the away game and failed to create a single key pass or complete a single dribble. He also lost possession 12 times and won only two of his six ground duels.
Sancho joined Dortmund on loan in January in a bid to revive his career but has failed to make a huge impact at Signal Iduna Park.
The 23-year-old made a positive start by registering assists in his first two Bundesliga matches against Darmstadt and FC Koln.
But he has largely been disappointing since, failing to make any goal contributions in his last five appearances.
Sancho needs to step up his game quickly, otherwise Edin Terzi? may start benching him soon.
