Man in critical condition following shooting in New Haven
A man was critically injured in a shooting in New Haven on Thursday evening, police said.
Officers responded to the area of Wilmot Street by Brookside Avenue around 7:40 p.m. on Thursday in response to a ShotSpotter alert, according to the New Haven Police Department.
Around 10 minutes later, officers were dispatched to the St. Raphael campus of Yale New Haven Hospital at 1450 Chapel St. in response to a walk-in gunshot victim, police said.
According to police, the victim, a 29-year-old New Haven man, was listed in critical but stable condition.
Officers and detectives were able to locate ballistic evidence at the scene of the ShotSpotter activation, police said.
