City of Pittsfield declares snow emergency
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) -- A snow emergency is in effect from 7 p.m. on Sunday through 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12. Residents are asked to use off-street parking or observe alternate-side parking regulations.
Parking will be allowed on the even side of the street from 7 p.m. on Sunday to 7 p.m. on Monday. Parking will then be allowed on the odd side of the street from 7 p.m. on Monday until 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Additionally, the McKay Street parking garage will be free of charge to the public during the snow emergency. All other parking regulations remain in effect. Vehicles found violating any of the parking regulations may be towed at the owner's expense.
Residents are also reminded to clear sidewalks and ramps abutting their property of snow within 24 hours of the end of the storm. Snow may not be disposed of onto city streets or sidewalks. Residents are also encouraged to clear snow around fire hydrants.
