How Prince Louis was at the centre of another royal ‘photoshop fail’
It seems Kate Middleton isn’t the only royal to have been at the centre of a photo scandal – with the family previously being accused of editing a snap of Prince Louis.
News and photography agencies ‘killed’ a handout photo of The Princess of Wales yesterday evening, following a global social media conversation over the legitimacy of the image.
Kate since admitted that the photo featuring her kids has been edited, sharing a post on X on Monday morning that read: ‘Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.
‘I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.
‘I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C’
The image released is the first public address from Kate since her abdominal surgery two months ago.
The caption read: ‘‘Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months,’ and is signed ‘C’.
Social media users said they were ‘swayed’ into believing the image had been altered after zooming in on Princess Charlotte’s hand, where her cardigan and wrist appear to be blurry and disconnected.
Royal watchers were also quick to point out that Kate’s wedding ring was missing from the photograph.
It isn’t the first time this has happened as a photo last year of Kate and William’s youngest child, Prince Louis, left people puzzled.
The Waleses’ released a family portrait for Christmas, which was hit with international criticism.
In the photograph, the family can be seen matching in white shirts in the monochrome image.
However, upon closer inspection of the seemingly wholesome pic, Prince Louis’ middle finger appears to be missing.
One social media user believed that the image had been altered, penning: ‘While it’s a nice family photo, as soon as I looked at it, I noticed Louis’ hand.
‘He’s missing a finger.’
Another said: ‘Photoshop picture. Check prince Louis fingers. One is short’
A royal source denied the claims in a comment and said: ‘It’s not photoshopped. It seems as if he [Louis]… just bent his finger over.
‘He’s certainly not lost a finger – don’t worry about that!’
