Amsterdam man arrested for alleged catalytic converter theft
AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Amsterdam Police Department arrested Timothy Faboskay, 35, following an investigation into a reported catalytic converter theft on February 27. Police say the vehicle was parked at a residence on Locust Avenue.
Police say they were unable to locate Faboskay for an interview. He eventually responded to police headquarters on March 1 but denied his involvement until he was shown surveillance footage of the theft. He then confessed to stealing the catalytic converter.
Police charged Faboskay with grand larceny in the third degree and criminal mischief in the third degree. He was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court and released to appear at a later date.
