4 arrested for unlawful entry into U.S. at International Railroad Bridge
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Four people were arrested for unlawfully entering the United States at the International Railroad Bridge in downtown Buffalo on Tuesday, the Customs and Border Protection office said.
The four were three men and one woman. According to authorities, border patrol agents caught them jumping off of a moving freight train. The woman was injured and became immobile, while the men were arrested after a short foot pursuit.
Border patrol agents were able to identify that the woman and two of the men were from India, while the third man was from the Dominican Republic. It was concluded that all four were undocumented.
The three men were processed for removal and detained at the Batavia Federal Detention Facility awaiting a deportation hearing, while the woman was brought to a local medical center for treatment.
