Report: £30m could be enough to sign Spurs midfield target this summer
Tottenham Hotspur could be set to land one of their top targets, Conor Gallagher, this summer, and Chelea’s financial situation dictates they may have to accept an offer of just £30m for one of their star players.
Spurs have been linked with a move for Gallagher for roughly a year now, with Ange Postecoglou thought to be keen to bring in a new midfielder.
Despite Gallagher being a key player for Chelsea, it is thought the club are ready to sell the academy graduate this summer in order to keep Financial Fair Play regulators at bay, and the Blues are already looking at replacements (HITC).
Chelsea’s high spending ways are set to catch up to them this summer unless they can turn a profit, and Gallagher presents them with the best opportunity to do that (Football Insider).
And, despite Mauricio Pochettino’s wishes to keep the player at the club, it is believed Chelsea may still move Gallagher on this summer (Football Insider).

However, the latest from GiveMeSport suggests Chelsea may not get as high an offer as they initially hoped for Gallagher. It is thought that if a new contract cannot be agreed, a £30m offer would be enough to force Chelsea’s hand this summer.
Apparently, it would be very difficult to find a club willing to pay “top dollar” for Gallagher, given the fact he has just 18 months left on his contract right now. Chelsea were hoping for around £50m, but Spurs and other clubs are “unlikely to bow” to that valuation, and will come in at no higher than £30m.
If no progress is made on agreeing a new contract, Chelsea may be “forced” into letting Gallagher go on the cheap.

That may seem like a low offer, but with a year left on his contract, what would Chelsea realistically expect? If we could sign Gallagher for £30m, I think that’d be a fantastic addition to our squad.
