I’m plus-size and my date thought he was doing me a favor – he made the rudest remark when I said I wasn’t interested
A RUDE remark hasn’t knocked the confidence of one plus-size woman who’s on a quest for love.
She raved about herself as she shared the awful encounter she had with a man she met on a dating app.
Sam Gatsheni (@isssathicknation) boasts over 78,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares style inspiration.
The England-based fashionista from South Africa shared the process of putting together an outfit as she recalled a horrific first date.
She started by putting on Asos’s denim midi skirt with split hem, which cost $39.99, in a size 22.
“Child, he said ‘for a girl like me, you shouldn’t really be picky like that,’” she said.
“After I told him that ‘this date was great but it’s not gonna work.’
“So anyway, get ready with me to go on a date with a man who thought he was doing me a favor by taking me out.
“I mean look at this jumper girl.”
She put on Zara’s structured crop knit sweater which cost $39.90 with a pair of brown boots.
The outfit was teamed with Boohoo’s teddy trim faux leather aviator jacket, priced at $48.
She posed from different angles as she showed how the outfit looked with and without the jacket.
“I look fine as f**k,” Sam said.
“This man sat there and thought he was doing me a favor by taking me out.
“Because excuse me, plus-size girls shouldn’t have preferences.
“Interesting, interesting, maybe people like you shouldn’t.”
“I don’t know what I was expecting from a Hinge date,” she added.
How does Hinge work?
The tagline “designed to be deleted”, implies that Hinge is for dating rather than causal hookups.
