Cameron Climie is missing the point of the registration tax on electric vehicles. The tax on electric vehicles really doesn't have much to do with weight — that's a bit of a red herring. The registration tax is in lieu of the fuel tax those heavier SUVs and large trucks pay every time they fill up.
