Capital Region butcher shop under new ownership

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- PRIMAL: Your Local Butcher is under new ownership. The butcher shop has locations in Stuyvesant Plaza at 1475 Western Avenue and Wilton Plaza at 3057 Route 50.

Kevin Wickert opened PRIMAL in 2009. He's now handing over the business to Tim Howland. Howland began working at PRIMAL in 2009 and became the Director of Operations in 2010. He officially became the new owner on March 13.

“Tim has been instrumental in the growth and success of PRIMAL, and I have every confidence in his ability to steer the company to new heights while maintaining the tradition of excellence our customers are accustomed to,” said Wickert.

PRIMAL: Your Local Butcher offers USDA Prime and Choice beef, pork, chicken, Boar's Head deli products, and grocery items such as eggs, Smith's Pies, Battenkill Creamery products, bread, pasta, and craft beer and cider. The shops also carry PRIMAL's line of marinades, spices and rubs.
