Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb has given approval to a bipartisan bill addressing the cost of child care, as well as a Republican-backed bill that undoes some regulations for child care centers. Addressing the high cost of child care was a priority for statehouse leaders and the governor's office this legislative session while the Democratic minority says lawmakers must continue to address the issue during the budget cycle next year. Holcomb has signed 166 bills this year, including legislation Wednesday on higher education, guns and a bill that jeopardizes discrimination lawsuit brought against the state.
