Harris shows little interest in welfare of children post-womb | READER COMMENTARY
In his recent commentary, U.S. Rep. Andy Harris, a physician as well as Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, provides a passionate argument that single women experiencing unwanted pregnancies should be provided with options (“Andy Harris: Why is the Biden administration trying to limit funding for pregnancy resource centers?” March 8). But where’s the compassion for these children after they are brought into this world, Dr. Harris?
Single moms need support feeding their children without the government telling them what they can eat. Day care needs to be affordable so these mothers can earn a living. And public education has to be supported if we want these kids to turn into productive citizens.
It’s hypocritical to be pro-life when we’re talking about unfertilized eggs and fetuses, and to ignore children after they are born.
