Two arrested in North Portland carjacking: PPB
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Two people are in custody after a carjacking in North Portland Friday evening, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
At around 7:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of a robbery of a car at gunpoint near the intersection of North Skidmore Street and North Albina Avenue.
On arrival, officers reportedly saw the the stolen vehicle speeding away from the scene.
Soon after, the driver crashed the car near Northeast Mason Street and Northeast 70th Avenue, authorities say.
Two suspects got out of the crashed car and tried to run away. But since extra officers were on a crime suppression mission in the area, they were arrested a short while later, officials say.
