NYCHA residents without power, heat and hot water at Stapleton Houses for 2 days
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) – NYCHA and Con Edison crews are working to restore power, heat and hot water to thousands of residents living in the Stapleton Houses on Staten Island.
The housing complex has been without services since Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures dipped below freezing Thursday morning.
Councilmember Kamillah Hanks has arranged for people to collect essential items at a nearby community center.
Many residents are concerned about the food in their refrigerators, since officials have not confirmed when services will be restored.
