Carroll County house fire causes $500,000 in damage; no one injured
The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a Wednesday evening house fire in Westminster that caused about $500,000 in damage, according to a news release.
At 8:23 p.m., the Manchester Volunteer Fire Company was called to the 1800 block of Ships Quarters Court for a fire at a single-family residence. It took about an hour for 45 firefighters to control the blaze, the release said.
Although an entire side of the home was burned, no one was injured from the fire. Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire, which started on the exterior porch.
