Persia Nelson charged with murder in death of baby Halo
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Persia Nelson, mother and accused killer of 10-month-old Halo Branton, has been officially charged with second-degree murder after an indictment was handed up on Thursday. She was also indicted on endangering the welfare of a child.
This follows the first charge of second-degree manslaughter. Nelson is accused of dropping her 10-month-old daughter Halo Branton down an 8-foot pipe at the GE plant in Schenectady. The child later died in a hospital.
