Driver tries to get one up on speed camera with ‘no photos please’ sign
A cheeky driver has tried – and failed – to get around the rules of the road.
Not only did this driver hold up this sign to a speed camera in Shropshire, he also flashed a rather rude symbol towards it.
He was driving along the A458 in Moreville in January when he was caught out by a mobile speed enforcement officer.
But the officer didn’t just snap a picture of his registration number: the image also captured him holding up a sign which read: ‘NO PHOTOGRAPHS PLEASE. You will have to speak to my agent first.’
Unfortunately for him, having the large white sign held in front of his face while at the wheel backfired. West Mercia Police’s road safety team pulled him up for the offence of ‘not being in a position to have full view of the road’.
The driver was able to avoid receiving a fine or points on his licence by attending a ‘What’s Driving Us’ course.
It’s different to a speed awareness course, as this driver wasn’t caught speeding, and it’s offered as an alternative to points or a fine.
The force say the What’s Driving Us course was more appropriate to address the offence he committed.
